What does a successful Scheme Operations Analyst do?
As a Scheme Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring our organization’s compliance with industry standards, regulations, and card scheme rules. In this role, you will support the intake of card scheme changes, with a specific emphasis on acquiring and optimizing operational processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—such as Compliance, Risk, Product, Operations, and Merchant Services—to ensure compliance, maintain process efficiency, and uphold a high standard of service for our clients. Your contributions will be crucial in helping us navigate the complexities of the card scheme landscape while delivering exceptional service and support.
What you will do:
- Maintain compliance with card scheme and payment rules and support escalations and investigations with the schemes
- Monitor bulletin and announcements, card scheme mandates, and industry updates with a focus on how they impact acquiring operations.
- Support card scheme and payment change management projects including the implementation of changes to products, systems and operations.
- Own and execute card scheme programs and processes, including but not limited to data integrity programs, service provider validations, periodic scheme reporting and attestations, periodic due diligence reviews with external partners.
- Drive optimization projects related to process improvement, cost reduction and authorization performance.
- Support internal teams like Product, Finance, Sales, Credit Risk, Legal, Marketing with subject matter expertise and consultancy on card scheme rules and products.
- Facilitate effective communication, issue resolution, and relationship management to maintain strong partnerships
What you will need to have:
- 2+ years experience in a payment institution or in a similar position related to compliance with card schemes and payment rules.
- Demonstrated understanding of card payments, payment industry standards, processes and card schemes rules.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication for relaying key information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills for negotiating timelines, requirements, and deliverables with various internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
