What you will do and how you will do it

  • Develop, validate and deploy computer models to simulate performance of thermodynamic systems.
  • Model chillers/heat pumps, their components (compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, motors, VFDs), and systems containing multiple chillers.
  • Plan and interpret results from physical tests and apply those results to validate and tune simulation models.
  • Telecommunicating may be permitted.

What We Look For

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field, plus 2 years of professional work experience with project work emphasizing the simulation of thermodynamic systems.
  • Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with:
  • (1) Computer modeling and simulation techniques for HVAC and refrigeration systems;
  • (2) Fluid dynamics and heat transfer domain;
  • (3) Analysis of experimental test results conducted in an engineering laboratory environment;
  • (4) Validation of computer models using laboratory test data;
  • (5) Applied thermal system modeling in a professional environment
  • (6) FORTRAN and C# programming languages.
