Job Summary

A Quality Inspector provides technical expertise to support the Quality program. This includes specialized inspection, testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, and quality tools for problem-solving and assessment.

The inspector applies knowledge of quality systems and tools to ensure that required standards are met during project execution. They create inspection reports that detail the conditions of the work scope, verifying that requirements conform to specifications.

Under supervision, the Quality Inspector develops the skills and knowledge necessary to assess the degree of conformity of products in relation to specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performs physical inspections of various activities – new and refurbished parts
  • Ability to lift 25lbs
  • Generates final inspection reports of conformance concerns
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of all inspections
  • Supports Quality Engineer during investigations
  • Additionally, including any other duties assigned by Quality Manager/Supervisor

Basic Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • A quality certification is necessary (e.g., Quality Management Systems (QMS), Quality Inspection, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in quality inspection is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens and possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with or certification in Quality Management Systems (such as ISO, etc.)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire
  • Experience with digital measuring systems such as CMM, Keyence IM, or XM is required
