What does a successful Release Engineer do at Fiserv? A successful Release Engineer at Fiserv manages releases, system enhancements, and other strategic initiatives during managed maintenance windows. They partner with various functional areas, including Business Units, Engineering, Operations, and Change Management, to ensure successful project implementation. They are responsible for planning and executing releases, mitigating risks, resolving issues, and gathering and reporting metrics.
What you will do:
- Manage all aspects of release management planning and execution during managed maintenance windows.
- Set and manage release support expectations, ensuring all applicable groups are engaged.
- Create comprehensive deployment plans, including timelines, risks, mitigation plans, and validation resources.
- Execute deployment plans, identify and resolve issues, and coordinate with Command Center personnel.
- Monitor and manage issues, impacts, and dependencies during managed maintenance windows.
- Conduct post-maintenance window support, gather and communicate lessons learned and metrics.
- Promote continuous improvement by documenting and communicating release lessons learned.
- Work closely with external clients to manage major and minor code releases and enhance awareness of new product offerings.
What you will need to have:
- 4+ years of experience with Fiserv Optis platform.
- Experience in release/project management practices.
- Experience in coordinating and resolving deployment issues.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.
What would be great to have:
- 5+ years of experience in project management within Agile environments.
- 5+ years of experience in business assessment and requirements analysis.
- 5+ years of experience in process management and quantitative research.
- Familiarity with business platform expertise and user documentation review.
- Experience working with external clients and enhancing their awareness of new products
