We are seeking a Vice President, Operational Risk Management to join the Emerging Markets regional risk and compliance team. This position, which reports to the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer for Emerging Markets, is primarily responsible for driving strategic risk management initiatives as well as providing second lineoperational risk advisory support and coveragefor Prudential’s international insurance businessesacross Emerging Markets.
Risk’s mission is to enable intelligent management decisions to help drive exceptional business, customer, and financial outcomes over the long term. As the second line of defense to the business, this position is responsible for providing strong leadership and direction in developing and maintaining an effective and efficient operational risk management program and fostering an intelligent risk taking culture. This includes providing risk guidance/expertise, assistance and advisory support to business leaders on managing operational risks in accordance with the Company’s ORM framework; ensuring that operational risks are properly identified, assessed, monitored, controlled and reported; collaborating as a trusted advisor with key business and functional stakeholders to resolve complex risk issues; fostering proactive risk management aimed at achieving successful business outcomes.
This position requires strong leadership and influence, sound judgment, project/process management and technical acumen. This position also provides a tremendous opportunity to interact with senior management and business leadership as well as Audit, Law, Compliance and Risk Management counterparts across the company.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
Provide Emerging Markets business leadership with proactive operational risk advisory support, assessments and partnership on core business activities and strategic/new business initiatives, including new distribution methods, products and partnerships.
Engageon challenging, sensitive, and/or urgent risk issues, including providing guidance, facilitatingafter-action reviews and advising on the development and implementation of action plans to enhance controls.
Support risk governance, including developing materials and/or presenting to senior management, risk committees, and other forums.
Advance the use of data and analytics, as well as provide tools, resources, capabilities, subject matter expertise, and knowledge sharing, to mature local risk management governance/programs and enable local risk teams.
Thought leadership and risk oversight in core operational risk domains (for example, information protection, vendor governance and model risk), as well as strongunderstanding of the insurance business and industry
Proactive, driven professional with the ability to strategize, influence, and executeacross a broad set of stakeholders and broad body of work

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $185,100.00 to $250,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
