Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E)extends the characters and stories of NBCUniversal by bringing them to life in immersive retail and theme park experiences, as well as in product categories such as toys, collectables, books, apparel, lifestyle categories, video games, digital initiatives like AR and more. A division of Universal Destinations and Experiences, UP&E activates the business through world-class licensee partnerships or through direct operations across its expansive theme park destinations, e-commerce platforms, live-entertainment venues, and retailer relationships around the world.
Role Summary
In this newly created position, the Director, Internal Communications & Team Member Experiences will drive UP&E’s creation of communications strategies, campaigns, events, and content designed for current and prospective team members worldwide. Partnering with Human Resources and Global Communications, this role will shape and deliver engaging communications and experiences that inform, inspire, connect, and engage team members around the world in a consistent Company voice.
As a key engagement driver, this role will reinforce our culture and align team members with the company’s vision, purpose, priorities, and values. The Director will contribute to attracting talent to UP&E and its various departments and locations, positioning UP&E as an Employer of Choice in the external marketplace.
The Director should be team member engagement-focused, proactive, strategic and creative in approach and suited for a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Create strategic communication and events plan regarding key company initiatives and programs, as well as positioning and strategy for overall message, tone and voice
- Develop and implement creative ways to engage team members in coordination with overall Human Resources and Communication strategies
- Create programs and activities that matter most to the team member culture, while ultimately driving overall business performance including town halls, coordinated product release activities, team member engagement and appreciation, networking, and other key internally focused events
- Write and serve as senior editor for all division-wide communications to team members including executive communications
- Collaborate with HR, Global Communication, and the UP&E Leadership Team
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and departments within and outside of UP&E to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging
- Maintain and populate content for all communication channels including company updates, team member spotlights, business initiatives, event promotions, etc.
- Explore new and creative ways to leverage communication platforms and digital content to tell stories that inspire and engage our audience
- Develop KPIs and feedback loops to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies, content and channels; continuously improve based on analytics and feedback
- Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor, establishing strong relationships with team members globally, aligning to the specific needs of their respective businesses/destinations
- Participate in best practice sharing with other UDX divisions
- Maintain UP&E calendar with internal meetings and other company events and liaise with executives on event participation
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred
- 8+ years related experience required in corporate and / or team member / internal communications, preferably in a global, consumer-facing organization

- Familiarity with internal communications platforms and tools (e.g., Emma, Canva, Microsoft Office 365 including SharePoint and copilot, video production, etc.)
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the Universal City, CA office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
