The Role: As a Sr. Buyer – Wire Harness you will be responsible for purchasing productive and non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling, and services. You will actively participate in developing commodity strategies, sourcing and negotiations, executing global/regional material budgets, and collaborating with suppliers and internal partners. This role involves a significant amount of initiative, analytical work, and judgment.
What You'll Do:

Maintain sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget, and on-time metrics.

Adhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures.

Conduct sourcing and contracting activities, including:

Sourcing event bid strategy and management.

Bid analytics.
-
Coordination and alignment of RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR, and technical documentation.

Leadership sourcing recommendation and alignment.

Management of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to GM Audit Services.

Cooperation with legal to negotiate special contract terms.

Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items.

Support commercial budget activities.

Support logistics supplier management initiatives, including “Strategic Supplier Engagement.”

Nurture relationships with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution.

Perform rate management activities, including spot buys, rate analysis, and supplier requests.

Participate in supplier KPI reviews.
