About your role:
You will be a Senior Java Developer on our Issuer Output Solutions team, with a primary focus on our high-volume print operations. This role will support the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise-grade applications and tools used in the production and delivery of client communications. The ideal candidate will have strong Java development experience in Linux environments and a deep understanding of print workflows. Experience with Ricoh document composition tools is a significant plus.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications to support Fiserv’s print production systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including print operations, QA, and product management to define software requirements
- Develop tools and utilities for automation and optimization of print workflows
- Integrate with third-party systems including Ricoh document solutions, print controllers, and finishing equipment
- Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable output
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to team best practices
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure system stability
- Develop shell scripts and automation tools to support application deployments and job scheduling in a Linux environment
Experience you'll need to have:
- 6+ years of experience in Java software development
- 3+ years of experience in RESTful APIs, file processing, and batch systems
- 3+ years of experience in Agile methodologies
- 2+ years of experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including pearl and or shell scripting
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience with document format manipulation software such as RICOH Process Director
- Experience with file formats (PostScript, PDF, AFP, etc.)
- Experience in the financial services industry
