Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Rapids Operations on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The Manufacturing Engineering Shift Leader will have direct supervisory responsibility for a medium group of maintenance Technical Operations Specialist (TOS) supporting engineering, across multiple shifts. This position will support the manufacturing business unit while building an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing plant where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment. The Manufacturing Engineering Shift Leader will maintain capital machinery supporting manufacturing, communicate department maintenance and quality goals, and leverage resources to solve issues. The selected candidate will be a technical leader for Driveline Gears Manufacturing Engineering.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

Work directly with CNC machinery and cutting tools

Holds responsibility for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment

Participates in the selection of new employees and trains, develops and evaluates salaried team members including technical training plans

Supports Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes across multiple departments and serve as lead resource for quality standards

Point of contact for various contractors and vendors that support manufacturing and maintenance

Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing principles with Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Lead Workplace Safety System (WSS) element or Performance Standards

Direct manpower and resources to focus on reducing Mean Time to Response (MTTR) and preventative maintenance tasks
