What does a successful Accounting Manager, Card and Issuer Solutions do at Fiserv?
As a Senior Accounting Manager at Fiserv, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the propriety and accuracy of financial transactions, and you will influence and interface with highest levels within the Finance & Accounting department. You will leverage your advanced research and analytical skills to drive accountability and results, while partnering closely with senior management. Your ability to lead change and provide guidance to accounting staff will contribute to our team's high profile success record.
What you will do:
- Ensure the propriety of accounting for financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and/or established policies.
- Work closely with the VP and business unit finance management to review financial results, investigate issues, and explain variances and perform related financial analysis.
- Train, provide guidance and review the work performed by accounting staff to ensure transactions are processed in accordance with company policies.
- Direct the planning and implementation of divisional activities related to general accounting functions including the establishment and maintenance of a complete set of books and records for a Fiserv business unit; closing and reconciliation of the General Ledger and all financial systems; and reports and analysis related to the Balance Sheet.
- Provide technical accounting expertise and policy interpretation for complex transactions and work closely with the technical accounting policy team.
- Assist with corporate policy review of new customer contracts for appropriate revenue recognition considerations.
- Support the Company’s annual audit and quarterly reviews.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal SOX controls and accounting procedures, and discuss with management potential weaknesses in controls or breakdowns in procedures.
- Assist management in the documentation and implementation of improved controls and procedures, identifying, properly accounting for, and resolving key business issues.
What you will need to have:
- 8+ years in accounting and financial reporting with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Advanced experience using MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or equivalent military experience.
What would be great to have:
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Accounting experience using SAP, Oracle or other ERP systems.
- Ability to lead change and manage multiple deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and decision-making skills.
