Job Title: Lead Design Engineer (Fabrications and Castings)
Salary: £63,500 - £78,000 depending on experience
Contract: Full time & permanent
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
As Lead Design Engineer (Fabrications and Castings), you design, test, develop, and implement new products, components, processes or technologies within the Compact Wheel Loader (CWL) product team. The primary focus of this role is on welded steel fabrications (3-30mm), and structural castings (up to 150kg).
As the Lead Design Engineer (Fabrications and castings), you are accountable for, but not limited to:

What You Can Demonstrate:
Project & Process Management: Experienced in leading projects, coordinating teams, managing timelines, and delivering results efficiently.
Design – Pin joints, weldments, bolted joints, 3D modelling, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R).
Problem solving – Six Sigma (6σ) methodologies such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) and DMEDI (Define, Measure, Explore, Develop, Implement), as well as 8D (Eight Disciplines) or similar structured problem-solving processes that ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented.
