What does a successful Product Manager (Card Payments - Risk and Fraud) do?
A successful Product Manager oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk and fraud strategy. They collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to stay ahead of emerging threats while leading the end-to-end product development lifecycle for risk and fraud management solutions.
What you will do:
- Lead the design and delivery of effective risk and fraud management product solutions, enhancing existing capabilities to benefit our customers amid evolving market conditions.
- Serve as the primary liaison among cross-functional teams (Sales, Client Relations, Operations, and more), ensuring stakeholder buy-in on major decisions while providing clear instructions for engineering teams.
- Set and promote the product vision for risk and fraud solutions, mobilizing teams to execute against that vision.
- Identify gaps in current offerings and spearhead initiatives to develop solutions that drive business and customer value.
- Engage in client-facing discussions to gather insights on industry trends and customer needs, applying these insights to refine the product strategy.
What you will need to have:
- Proven experience in driving product strategy and go-to-market plans, specifically with risk and fraud services within payment or financial systems.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to effectively work with both business and technical stakeholders, including clients.
- A self-motivated, results-oriented mindset, with the ability to take ownership of issues and navigate them to resolution.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Experience in building business cases, managing P&L for the product, and responding to RFIs/RFPs.
What would be great to have:
- At least 5+ years of experience in a product leadership role focused on risk and fraud within the payments domain.
- Familiarity with regulations and compliance standards relevant to the payments industry.
- Ability to motivate cross-functional teams and drive consensus in a matrix organization.
- A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred, and proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
