The team is currently focused on delivering high-impact products while also exploring exciting future opportunities. With such ambitious plans, we are looking for an experienced Sr Engineering Manager to lead this dynamic team, providing the mature leadership necessary to balance innovation, team growth, and strategic execution on a larger scale.
What you will do:
Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, ensuring predictable delivery cycles, scalability, and quality.
Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment to maintain a high standard of engineering excellence.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and business stakeholders, to align engineering priorities with broader company objectives.
Serve as a key representative of the engineering organization in cross-functional discussions, ensuring technical considerations are factored into decision-making.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex engineering challenges and architectural decisions.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and tools, leveraging them to enhance the team’s capabilities and product offerings.
Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
Drive a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new ideas, tools, and methodologies.
What you will need to have:
Experience in developing robust web applications with expertise in designing and managing scalable APIs
8+ years of experience with Java, including hands-on coding and debugging
5+ years of people management experience, with a proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams
5+ years with SQL or NoSQL databases, including database design, optimization, and performance tuning
Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
Experience with Agile methodologies and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
Proficiency in tools like JIRA for project management and tracking
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
What would be nice to have:
Experience with delivery ownership software
Familiarity with modern web development frameworks and technologies
Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work or military experience preferred
