What does a successful Manager Project Management do?
The Manager of Commercial Center Project Management is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and guiding project management teams to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders. This individual will bring a strategic vision and business acumen to the organization, driving efficiency and fostering collaboration across departments. This role operates under limited supervision with guidance from the Director, PMO leader, contributing to the success Fiserv.
What you will do:
- Drive Project Planning and Execution: Ensure that you team has developed comprehensive project plans that outline scope, goals, deliverables, resources, timelines, and budgets.
- Capacity Planning: Coordinate resources effectively and manage project teams to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project managers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance. Foster a collaborative and proactive team environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively. Efficiently escalate when needed to the appropriate stakeholder.
- Risk Management: Support your team in identifying potential risks and help them to develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Monitor risk factors and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards. Conduct regular reviews and audits to maintain project integrity.
- Budget/Estimate Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints. Monitor expenditures and report on financial performance.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present detailed project reports, including progress updates, resource utilization, and financial summaries. Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
What you will need to have:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in project management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in managing complex projects.
- 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
- 3+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with comprehension of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support it.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
What would be great to have:
- Experience in banking, financial services, and/or software industries.
- PMI certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Experience managing software implementation projects.
- Proficiency in MS Project.
- Experience with the Clarity tool.
- Experience with capacity planning.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, as needed.
