About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Management Director for our Global Payments and Liquidity (GPL) and Strategy, Digital, and Innovation (SDI) Control Management Leadership Team. This important role ensures key risk & control management programs are implemented effectively and strategically integrated as part of the operating framework across GPL and SDI.
The leader will drive a strong GPL and SDI control environment that is developed and maintained through sustainable and consistent processes, procedures, routines, reporting and controls. This individual will lead the following programs: Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA), Issue Management, Risk Measurement Program (RMP), Enterprise Risk Identification & Assessment (ERIA), Risk Management Effectiveness (RME), Operational Risk Events (ORE), and Control Optimization including oversight of the Internal Control Policy.
This leader will be responsible for fully implementing the programs in an integrated way, providing ongoing insight on the GPL and SDI control environment, and driving key enhancement opportunities. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the Control Management Programs continue to evolve strategically across GPL and SDI. This position has considerable exposure to and influence on GPL and SDI CEO and Leadership team and on Central Control Management leaders.
In this role, you will:Manage a team of 8 Direct reports with global team (US/India & Philippines) to consistently execute all control program policy requirements for RCSA, RMP, ERIA, RME, Issue Management, Control Optimization and ORE and to produce executive reporting on risk and control environment across GPL and SDI.
- Drive achievement of GPL's and SDI's risk and control objectives by providing strategic direction and guidance, ensuring adequate resources, capacity and prioritization, and assisting with escalation and problem-solving
- Establish a large-scale vision, develop the strategy to support the vision, gain consensus across key functional leadership areas across first, second and third line, and successfully delivery against goals and objectives
- Partner with Central program team to fully implement and evolve Control programs in SDI and GPL; Have influence with GPL and SDI leaders on output and insights across Control programs
- Work horizontally across a large, complex organization and participate in enterprise-wide and LOB-wide implementations of major policy and control programs
- Oversee interpretation and building of processes and output to comply with complex regulatory and policy requirements
- Develop and implement strategy for continual evolution of and improvement of GPL and SDI Control programs
- Distill complex concepts into simplified/targeted solutions, communicate those concepts effectively and ensure that all deliverables are met
- Use both vision and analysis to identify business problems and build compelling fact-based strategic recommendations to solve problems
- Navigate across senior leaders to forge consensus and solve problems
Required Qualifications:- 8+ years of Risk Management or Business Controls experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to independently define strategy and lead ongoing improvements in control programs (including RCSA and Issues Management).
- Prioritization & Execution: Proven capability to manage multiple competing priorities, with a focus on aligning urgent needs with leadership direction.
- Influence & Leadership: Experience influencing cross-functional leaders, including GPL, SDI, and senior stakeholders in central control management, to drive impactful outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in identifying and mobilizing key stakeholders to coordinate large-scale initiatives and address critical challenges.
- Global Team Management: Strong track record of managing distributed teams across multiple regions, ensuring alignment and performance across time zones
Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$173,300.00 - $359,900.00
