What you will do:
- Lead the design and development of backend services that power Clover’s online shopping experience, shaping the future of retail for our merchants.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and design teams to turn business needs into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Write, test, and debug advanced Java code, ensuring performance and reliability across our platform.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for mobile apps, web dashboards, payment devices, and third-party integrations.
- Own your services end-to-end—from initial development through deployment, monitoring, and support in production.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, helping grow the team’s technical expertise and best practices.
- Participate in thoughtful design and code reviews to maintain code quality and promote learning.
- Work with infrastructure partners to build robust, scalable data models that support high-availability services.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- 5+ years of experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- 4+ years of experience designing and implementing APIs.
- 4+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- 4+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- 4+ years of experience in Agile development environments.
