ManTech seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented
Journeyman Data Analyst to join our innovative team in
Ashburn, VA. This is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote.
Each day U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) oversees the massive flow of people, capital, and products that enter and depart the United States via air, land, sea, and cyberspace. The volume and complexity of both physical and virtual border crossings require the application of “big data” solutions to promote efficient trade and travel.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Perform exploratory data analysis using statistical techniques to identify significant trends, patterns, correlations, and anomalies.
- Collaborate with enterprise/application architects, database architects, data scientists, and mission stakeholders.
- Extract, clean, and transform data associated within an identified problem space to help build predictive models as well as develop appropriate supporting documentation.
- Leverage knowledge of a variety of statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Execute projects including those intended to identify patterns and/or anomalies.
- Research information as necessary.
- Brief project management, technical design, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences throughout the project lifecycle through written as well as virtual reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED and 6-15 years, AS/AA and 4-13 years, BS/BA and 2-7 years, MS/MA/MBA and 0-5 years, PhD/Doctorate and 0-3 years
- Proficiency in statistical modeling.
- Proficiency using Python, R, Scala, or JavaScript and related packages for development and analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A passion for low-level/embedded data/science analytics.
- Working knowledge of cloud computing/cloud storage.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Prior National Targeting Center (NTC) experience, preferably with proficiency in operational data analysis.
- Experience working within an Agile development environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, statistics, data science, information technology, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physical science, engineering or a related field.
Clearance Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain DHS CBP suitability.
Physical Requirements
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with coworkers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
