As Land Manager – Upstream, you will lead the land and regulatory strategy for our upstream business. This role requires deep technical expertise in oil and gas leases, operating agreements, and related documentation. You will be responsible for navigating complex ownership structures, including federal lands, and ensuring compliance with all associated obligations and requirements.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Sets and executes land and regulatory strategy for upstream operations including federal, state, and fee lands
Interprets and manages oil and gas leases, joint operating agreements, and other upstream land contracts
Oversees Owner Relations and Land Administration teams while fostering collaboration with Legal, Accounting, Operations, and Geology
Administers and manages royalty payments, mineral interests, and title issues involving multiple ownership layers
Leads negotiations for land acquisitions, leases, operating agreements, and other upstream contracts to secure land rights and optimize land use
Serves as the primary liaison for upstream land matters including surface and subsurface rights, damages, rentals, and regulatory filings
Represents the company in industry forums, regulatory hearings, and with external partners to advocate for upstream land interests
Supervises and mentors a team of land professionals to ensure effective land acquisition and management practices
Ensures compliance with evolving state and federal regulations by staying informed on legal and policy changes
Builds and maintains inclusive relationships with landowners, government agencies, and community stakeholders
Develops and implements land management strategies aligned with company goals while identifying opportunities for responsible land development
Oversees budgets for land activities ensuring cost-effective operations and financial accountability
Drives innovation in land systems including digital compliance tools and contract automation
Performs other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Land Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; ,minimum of ten (10 ) years of experience in land management, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role
Preferred: Masters degree in Land Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; fifteen (15) years of experience in Land Management with ten (10) years experience in leadership
Other Requirements:
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
Knowledge of upstream, midstream or downstream assets
Expertise in managing state regulatory functions
