In this role, you will:- Serve as a trusted advisor to the head of Cards, Merchant Services & Personal Loans
- Develop external and internal communications strategies that align with business priorities
- Organize product launches and media briefings to showcase value proposition of credit card portfolio
- Serve as a company spokesperson for media inquiries and provide issues management support
- Write and edit press releases, key messages, media statements, Q&As, and talking points
- Manage external agencies, ensuring projects are executed effectively and within budget
- Build relationships with personal finance, consumer/lifestyle and small business media outlets
- Seek opportunities to fully leverage internal and external channels to tell and amplify our story
- Leverage metrics and measurement tools to gauge effectiveness and track results
- Collaborate with partners across Public Affairs and consumer businesses to align company messaging
- Coach/mentor a team of geographically dispersed communicators
Required Qualifications:- 8+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:- Experience developing external communications strategies and plans for credit card offerings
- Experience securing broadcast and print opportunities with national or trade media outlets
- Experience prepping executives for media interviews or speaking engagements
- Experience writing stories across various social, internal, and digital channels
- Experience building strong relationships and collaborating across large organizations
- Experience presenting information in a manner that persuades, and influences decision makers
- Experience leading high-performing geographically dispersed teams within a matrix organization
Office Locations & Base Pay Ranges:- 150 East 42nd Street - New York, NY ($138,500 to $287,600)
- 1700 K Street, NW - Washington, DC ($126,400 to $262,600)
Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
