Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means that a successful candidate will be expected to report to the GM Milford Proving Grounds three times a week at a minimum or at a frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
The system engineer for Future brake systems role leads the System Integrity development for System Health Monitoring and Assessments that ensures that the brake system will be monitored and assessed through persistent observation of system inputs and component and software outputs along with periodic checks before, during, and after operation.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Contribute to the System Integrity roadmap for brake technologies

Support the Brake System Integrity team in developing requirements, use cases, test cases, MVP definitions, and prioritization aligned with program milestones

Define scope and guide stakeholders in developing diagnostic performance monitoring capabilities

Support functional decomposition, signal mapping, and embedded controls development

Author and manage change requests related to System Integrity and braking systems.

Lead resolution of system-level technical issues and escalate as needed

Oversee execution of SE work products: technical requirements, SFMEA, integration, troubleshooting (PRTS/SUFS), and cross-program issues

Collaborate with ARTS and stakeholders on software planning, prioritization, and technical support

Ensure downstream requirements and customer expectations for brake performance, safety, and reliability are met

Drive system verification/validation planning and standard work handoff with validation teams

Lead integration and performance activities for vehicle dynamics systems and assigned features/programs

Identify system vulnerabilities, develop mitigation plans, and track corrective actions

Develop and implement plans involving modeling, SIL, HIL, and vehicle testing

Resolve integration and performance issues throughout the development cycle

Support system engineers and feature owners in modeling, simulating, and testing to validate requirements

Ensure all requirements are captured in validation plans and clearly understood by validation teams

Contribute to Systems Engineering and System Safety work products as needed
