The preferred working arrangement for the Sr Consultant, Applied Technologist – Emerging Capabilities role is a hybrid model, with a few days per week in the Columbus, OH office. However, remote work arrangements will be considered for candidates located outside the Columbus area.

As the Sr. Consultant, Applied Technologist – Emerging Capabilities, you’ll execute experiments and research that provide actionable insights into the application of emerging technologies like AI, Immersive Experiences (XR/AR/VR), and Quantum Computing. You will act as a liaison and be responsible for leveraging agile best practices with deep understanding of both the business and technical complexity of emerging capabilities.
Job Description
Leads the design, execution and management of experiments that test new concepts, technologies, and applications of AI, Immersive Experiences, Quantum Computing, and other emerging capabilities.
Creates and maintains detailed documentation of each experiment, capturing key insights, methodologies, and best practices to form the foundation for future initiatives and serve as a reference for scaling and streamline the process of moving from experimentation to full-scale adoption.
Actively participates in daily scrum meetings, grooming meetings, project status meetings, sprint planning and review meetings.
Works closely with engineering, design, product, and business teams to ensure that experiments align with organizational goals and customer needs. Supports these teams in iterating on features and incorporating feedback from experiments.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships:Reports to the Director, Applied Technology and Emerging Capabilities. This is an individual contributor.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in business, human-computer interaction, engineering, user experience, product management and design, computer science, or related fields.
Experience: Typically, 10+years experiencein project management or experimentation, with a background in technology, product development, or innovation. Experience in managing iterative experiments, pilot programs, or prototype development is highly preferred. Experience with agile delivery methodologies and product management/owner principles. Requires background in both business and technology environments.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven understanding of key digital technologies, existing and emerging. Demonstrated understanding of agile delivery methodologies and product owner/manager practices. Knowledge of user experience principles and practices a plus. Insurance and Financial Services industry knowledge a plus. Strong understanding of business processes, strategy and operations across multiple domains. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus around technology solutions. Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex business and technical scenarios. A collaborative mindset and strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously.
