KBR is seeking a R&D Architect Support Engineer/Systems Engineer. This position will serve as a technical member of a dynamic systems engineering team supporting the Government customer. The candidate will support the Applied Research & Development (R&D) acquisition, integration and test initiatives with a specific focus area. Specifically, the candidate will support pathfinding and transition of applications and mission capabilities to the operations environment for Multi-Intelligence hard intelligence problems.

Key Responsibilities:
Mission: Provide Day-to-Day collaboration with the Government Customer, FFRDC teams, SETA and GED development contractors as well as External Agency mission partners
Requirements: Provide oversight, monitor development and integration activities and ensure alignment of priorities and resources consistent with US Government requirements and objectives
Projects: Analyze a wide variety of mission thread projects for impact on the existing and planned system architecture
Systems: Assist in ensuring decisions about AGG R&E Systems are consistent with an open-architecture construct
Acquisition: Advise Senior and mid-level US Government managers on acquisition decisions regarding a portfolio of AGG projects
Briefings: Support technical consultation, meeting coordination, and prepare and present architecture and acquisition recommendation briefings
Documentation: Establish and maintain the System View-1 (SV-1) Systems Interface Description document baseline linking together the operational and systems architecture
IC: This position requires an understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of end-to-end mission and services closure

Required:
Education: B.S. in engineering, physics or related technical degree or relevant experience
Space and Ground: Experience in space/ground aerospace systems engineering
Architecture: Knowledge of system architectures, architecture evolution and interface definition
Systems: Demonstrated knowledge of Ground Systems
Testing: At least 35 years’ experience with space/ground testing and systems engineering, systems integration, Verification, Validation and Transition (IVV&T) activities
Agile: Experience supporting agile software development and verification strategies and integration of new systems and initiatives in support of expanded mission capabilities
Analyze: Experience with test strategies and plans, executing tests, analyzing data and summarizing results
Desired:
Agile: Experience with architecting in an agile software development paradigm
MBSE: Demonstrated understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Integration: Ability to perform architecture analysis, trades, and system integration closure activities
IC: Experience within an acquisition office or related Intelligence Community
Mission Processing: Prior experience with ground mission processing or mission control systems, and/or mission operations is highly desired
IVV&T: Experience with commercial IVV&T techniques in service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments is also highly desirable
Communication: Experience interacting with User Community across a wide variety of intelligence and phenomenology disciplines
