About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Facilities Control Engineer to perform routine maintenance and provide infrastructure support within our manufacturing plant. This position is a weekend night role. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of facility systems by conducting regular inspections, performing basic repairs, and supporting the upkeep of essential infrastructure. The ideal candidate will contribute to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained production environment.
What You Will Do:
Performing or assisting in routine maintenance or construction work.
Monitoring and maintaining parts and tools inventory for infrastructure components and services.
Serving as first line of support for building service problems and work requests
Assisting facility engineers and supporting manufacturing and other related departments.

Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
Level Working Knowledge:
Assists in problem resolution, drafting and writing specifications for engineering practices.
Works with basic, routine components of the engineering discipline in manufacturing.
Performs basic installation, maintenance and repairs for a specific engineering function.
Follows relevant standards, policies and practices in engineering operations.
Reports unusual engineering issues and considerations regarding manufacturing operations to senior staff.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Level Basic Understanding:
Discusses the relevance of standards for a manufacturing environment.
Researches process and product blueprints for own area.
Describes and follows all policies, standards and procedures.
Obtains documentation and information on standards and their usage.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
Level Basic Understanding:
Explains where to locate basic help facilities and troubleshooting guides.
Experience with operating or programming CNC Machines such as Heller, Toyoda, Mazak, etc.
Discusses basic concepts behind a systematic approach to solving technical problems.
Identifies available resources and support systems for troubleshooting.
Describes problem identification, reporting and escalation procedures.
Additional Information:
This position is WEEKEND NIGHT. The shift is Friday through Sunday from 6PM to 6AM.
Shift differential is offered for this role

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
