A Day in the Life:
As an Engineer or Technical Specialist focused on pipeline FEED estimation, you collaborate across engineering, commercial, and regulatory teams to shape the early stages of pipeline infrastructure projects. You develop cost estimates that guide investment decisions and regulatory filings. Your day may include reviewing preliminary routing maps, analyzing vendor quotes, and validating estimates against internal benchmarks. You engage with stakeholders to align on project scope and cost drivers, ensuring estimates are accurate, defensible, and timely.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Develops cost estimates for pipeline systems including mainlines, laterals, meter stations and valve sites
Estimates labor materials equipment and contractor costs for new construction and abandonment projects
Supports FERC-regulated and non-regulated pipeline projects with capital cost input
Collaborates with engineering operations and commercial teams to define project scope
Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to align on design assumptions and cost drivers
Engages with vendors and contractors to obtain market pricing and budgetary quotes
Benchmarks estimates using internal data and industry tools to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
Uses GIS tools and mapping software to evaluate routing constraints and develop preliminary layouts
Applies construction knowledge to validate estimates and identify optimization opportunities

Education/Years of Experience:
Technical Specialist II
Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in technical field and a minimum two (2) years’ experience in oil & gas industry
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or engineering and a minimum four (4) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty
Technical Specialist III
Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in engineering or a technical field and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in oil & gas industry
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field and minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty
Technical Specialist Sr
Required: Associates degree or equivalent experience and minimum of six (6) years' experience in oil & gas industry
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field and minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in field operations/construction or other technical specialty field
Engineer II
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
Engineer III
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum four (4) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
Engineer Sr
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and minimum seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry and PE Certification
Other Requirements:
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area
Preferred: Project Management experience
