What does a great Debit Program Manager do?
You will work as a key leader of the Debit Network, EBT and Fleet Operations team, this position manages Debit fee initiatives and projects. The Debit Program Manager would evaluate and manage debit fee bulletins and Spring & Fall fee related Release changes and ensures that Network changes are implemented. The role provides rules interpretation and identifies requirements to support changes on Fiserv processing platform systems. This position manages controls and procedures related to auditable processes resulting from changes and improves quality by working with Debit Testing, Implementation and IT partners. This position collaborates with Networks and internal distribution channels regarding industry and requirements, and operational processes on fee payment acceptance related matters. Debit Program Manager will lead a major billing system enrichment project.
What you will do:
- Lead, manage and mentor a team of Billing professionals including a Smart Routing professional.
- Oversee all debit network billing activities, ensuring accurate and timely billing, and reconciliation.
- Manage and analyze interchange fees, switch fees, and debit network pass-through fees, keeping current with debit network updates and changes.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, channel partners, and networks to optimize fee structures and implement cost reduction strategies (automation).
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to card processing and billing.
- Lead and support Smart Routing professionals from a day-to-day perspective as he/she will manage and maintain daily operations of Debit Smart Routing through the Debit Routing Decision (DRD) User Interface application, which includes but not limited to directing debit traffic through default and/or custom routing orders.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years experience.
- Proven experience in billing management, specifically in debit or credit card processing environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- 7+ years of professional experience focused on client and technical support, research and problem solving.
- Must have effective written and verbal communication, Analytical and Multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to drive complicated problems to resolution and long-term prevention.
- 7+ years of leadership and team management skills.
- Industry knowledge of interchange fees, switch fees, and debit network pass-through fees.
What would be good to have:
- 5+ years of payment processing experience with a strong working knowledge of Fiserv platforms.
- Team player and self-motivated to overcome challenges working across complex organizations structure
- Deep industry knowledge (payments, Fintech, SaaS) and ability to advise on best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure to resolve issues affecting production services.
