Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Engineer to join their Chiller engineering team. The role involves leading and executing regulatory compliance and agency certification efforts for products, ensuring all products meet relevant safety standards, directives, and regulations throughout the product lifecycle—from concept and design, through testing and production, to ongoing support. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external certification bodies, manage compliance projects, and maintain necessary approvals for global product marketing and use. Responsibilities include compliance planning, strategy, execution for new product development and sustaining engineering, interpreting safety standards, managing certification processes, facilitating risk assessments, representing the company on technical committees, supporting design reviews, generating compliance documentation, and supporting audits and continuous improvement. Regional compliance requirements cover North America, EMEA, Asia-Pacific, and global standards. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, at least 10 years of related industry experience with 5 years in product safety or risk analysis compliance, deep understanding of certification requirements, excellent project management and communication skills, and leadership ability. Preferred qualifications include professional safety certifications, experience in building automation or HVAC control product development, familiarity with international certification schemes, and understanding of quality management systems and software/firmware compliance.
