What does a successful Data Center Technical Support Specialist do at Fiserv?
You will provide technical leadership and support in our mission-critical data centers. Your role is essential in maximizing the data center operations customer-facing support model across the enterprise by implementing IT solutions in accordance with Fiserv standards. You will also update documentation and process information based on feedback from management.
What you will do:
- Provide IT technical support, including installation, problem determination, vendor management, and IT cabling infrastructure management for distributed, storage, and mainframe platforms.
- Support small to medium size projects, articulate project implementation plans, and communicate with internal and external resources as needed.
- Perform routine administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IT hardware, and provide escalation support to remote offices.
- Collaborate with internal groups and business units to meet data center support requirements and deliver business value.
- Understand and maintain current and planned architectural documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL V3 and Change Management principles.
- Manage and maintain team SharePoint sites as needed.
What you will need to have:
- 4+ years of experience working in a 24x7x365 high-availability data center.
- Proven firsthand experience with IT hardware and data center-specific trade tools.
- 4+ years of experience installing low-voltage communication cables (Fiber – Cat 6), IT hardware, and peripherals.
- 2+ years of having the ability to clearly communicate technical specifications to clients and implementation teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/GED.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights of 6 to 12 feet.
