What does a successful Mainframe Application Developer do at Fiserv?
As a successful Mainframe Application Developer, you will develop and/or maintain moderately complex to complex software components of the business application system utilizing available Mainframe developer tools. This will be approximately 80% software development and 20% analysis.
What you will do:
- Create, execute and review test plans
- Define and establish test data
- Create and maintain software documentation and report system data using reporting tools
- Define and document mainframe systems changes
- Regularly interface with various business units and senior IT staff in order to obtain system change approvals
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology or related field, equivalent experience, and/or equivalent military experience
- 5+ years of software application development experience
- Experience with COBOL, MVS/JCL, DB2 in a mainframe environment
- Per contractual obligations, must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a qualified United States Government security clearance, (e.g., US DOD Secret)
What would be great to have:
- Mainframe application programming experience with loan servicing systems
- 3+ years of experience with storage and retrieval of information in databases and other indexed storage methods
- A background in the financial industry, (and specifically within the student loan industry)
- Experience with SQL, CICS or VSAM in a mainframe environment
