Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Body Weld Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage operation/function. Engineering support for working on projects to support production shop to help meet major key performance indicator (KPI) targets for safety, quality, productivity and cost.

Reporting to the Body Weld Manager, the person in this role will support the Body Operations department's objective to lead/support the production of vehicles at the Highest Quality and Most Cost Competitiveness while ensuring Safety and an inclusive organization honoring The Toyota Way.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects with internal plant personnel, outside contractors and vendors.

  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills.

  • Problem Solving – using Toyota Business Practice (TBP) to effectively to implement effective countermeasures.

  • Project Management – use engineering standards to ensure proper execution

  • Must develop and maintain processes and procedures used to make business decisions on equipment related to operation maintenance, preventive maintenance, refurbishment and capital budget replacement decisions.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Proven experience with project and budget management

  • Significant experience working with collaborative teams to solve complex problems while supporting customer needs

  • Demonstrated ability to self-teach new technology, processes, and procedures

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Power BI, PowerApps)

  • This position may require driving/travel for business need.  A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position

Added bonus if you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Welding

  • High Volume Manufacturing Experience

  • Body Operations Experience

  • Experience with CATIA or Autodesk Inventor

  • Toyota CO-OP experience and/or contractor experience

  • TBP Training and/or Completion

  • PLC Training and/or Experience

  • COGNEX, OMRON or KEYENCE Vision Systems Experience
