This role supports the production of veterinary products by performing critical laboratory procedures in a regulated, aseptic environment. Working under moderate supervision, the Technician will assist with cell culture processes, aseptic techniques, and various production tasks to ensure products are manufactured safely, accurately, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow protocols carefully, and flexibility to work varied schedules based on manufacturing needs.
Responsibilities
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all company safety policies at all times.
• Clean and maintain work areas, including floors, walls, tables, and equipment.
• Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware, equipment, and materials for use.
• Assist with aseptic procedures such as media preparation, antigen inoculation/harvest, tissue culture preparation, embryo harvest, and vaccine filling.
• Operate and support laboratory equipment setup and processes, including incubation and weighing.
• Perform concurrent documentation, including logbooks, charts, and production records.
• Support filling, labeling, capping, packaging, and inspection of products.
• Assist with training new team members and reporting unusual or non-routine occurrences.
• Handle non-aseptic procedures when needed, including working with poultry during tissue or waste harvesting.
• Participate in reviewing and developing SOPs and production records, and help requisition laboratory supplies.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and compliance knowledge.
Education
• High School diploma/GED with 2–3 years of laboratory experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (fresh graduates acceptable).
Experience
• Previous work in a regulated industry and aseptic clean room environment required.
• Basic laboratory knowledge (e.g., stir plates, pipettes, cylinders).
• Preferred: familiarity with hatchery processes such as egg harvesting, candling, and inoculation.
• Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing facility strongly preferred.
Additional Information
• Must not currently live or work on a poultry farm/environment.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions carefully.
• Must be flexible to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• This is a 1-year assignment.
