About your role:
As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you are an expert on all things public cloud. Your primary focus is assisting engineering teams with migrating applications to the cloud and operating them securely, reliably, and efficiently. Working with our technical delivery teams and other engineering and operations groups, you’ll build capabilities and service specific controls that enable our application teams to use cloud services safely to deliver world class applications to Fiserv customers. You will assist with the use and improvement of key areas related to cloud including Identity and Access Management (IAM), Hybrid DNS, audit logging, network topology, governance and more.
What you’ll do:
- Assist with engineering and building out the Cloud product to enable our business applications and teams moving to public cloud
- Work with Cloud Security Architects and Platform Engineers to ensure Fiserv’s public cloud is secure and implements industry best practices
- Partner with Infrastructure Engineers to design and build a cloud foundation for technical delivery team
- Assist with implementation of policies using various cloud posture management security tools
- Assist with the design and build of various tools/automation to streamline existing processes and enabling self service
- Collaborate with application teams with building out infrastructure and specific cloud native services in the Cloud
- Assist other cloud operations staff with troubleshooting and operations escalations and remediation of identified security findings
- Work with other IT, Security, and Business Unit teams to deliver a world class public cloud platform
Experience you’ll need to have:
- 7+ years of experience with the implementation, maintenance, and operation of distributed systems
- 3+ years of recent hands-on experience working with cloud technologies in Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- 3+ years of experience building cloud solutions through the console and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, AWS CloudFormation, etc.
- Solid understanding of basic Internet principles such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, Networking, Load Balancing, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a relevant field, and/or equivalent military experience
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python is a plus
- Experience with containers and/or container orchestration such as Kubernetes is a plus
- Architecture/Engineering certifications related to Cloud Service Providers or demonstrable equivalency
