Job Summary Details: The Carpenter/Painter performs necessary carpentry and painting duties to maintain facilities in good repair and appearance.

Basic Qualifications: • Must be 18 years of age or older
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required
• No experience required and on the job training provided
Preferred Qualifications: • One (1) year of similar work experience preferred
Responsibilities: • Perform the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins, counters, benches, partitions, and doors
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments
• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work
• Select materials necessary for the work
• Paint walls, woodwork, and fixtures
• Identify surface peculiarities and determine the types of paint required for different applications
• Prepare surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes
• Mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency
• Use spray gun and/or brush to apply paint
