Job Description
Under direction, is responsible for performing complex and technical diagnostic automotive mechanical work servicing, repairing, or maintaining a variety of vehicles, small, large, and heavy equipment. Exercises no supervision.

6:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., Monday - Friday
Essential Job Functions
- Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Services and repairs engines in automobiles, trucks, boats, and equipment.
- Replaces and adjusts major drive train assemblies and components.
- Repairs electrical automotive equipment such as installing batteries, terminals, lights, starters, modules, and alternators, may require frequently lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Uses test devices, engine analyzers, gauges of various types, and other equipment.
- Performs diagnostic tests to locate malfunctioning systems.
- Performs repairs on electrical, heating, and cooling systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on hydraulic systems.
- Utilizes proper safety precautions necessary to operate basic mechanic tools and equipment and procedures related to work performed.
- Prepares vehicles for State inspection.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Two (2) years of automotive repair experience.
- Must obtain a valid Texas Commercial "B" Driver's License (CDL) plus all required endorsements within ninety (90) days.
