The Role
As a Senior Process Engineer – Industrial Mobile Robotics Certification , you will play a critical role in ensuring our autonomous mobile robots innovate in advancing the state of the art of robotics safety systems and that (AMRs) meet the highest safety standards without compromising performance or flexibility. You’ll collaborate with System Safety Engineers to define and implement safety solutions across hardware and software systems. This role involves defining safety architecture, guiding certification efforts, and integrating safety requirements into the product development lifecycle. You’ll work closely with Product Management, Program Management, System Safety, and Suppliers to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for driving early ‘clean sheet’ product designs towards safety capable outcomes as part of the product development team.
- Define safety system architecture in collaboration with the Electrical product architect, Autonomy system PEM, and System Safety Engineering, including subsystem interfaces and lower-level requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on wiring diagrams, architecture reviews, and prioritization of safety-critical requirements.
- Ensure compliance capability for UL Certification and manage risk using tools like ASAP, GComply and GRisk.
- Develop and execute system validation and verification strategies to meet safety targets (SIL/PL).
- Interface with regulatory bodies to support product certification and safety audits.
- Ensure adherence to UL and ANSI/RIA R15.08-1,2 standards for industrial mobile robots (IMRs).
- Guide cross-functional teams on safety best practices and integration throughout the development lifecycle.
