Overview
Position Summary:
The Floor Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors in a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for the upkeep of all flooring surfaces, including carpet, tile, vinyl, and other specialty surfaces, using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment. The technician ensures compliance with infection control standards and contributes to the overall patient experience by promoting a clean and welcoming environment.
Pay: $24.15 an hour
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
Shift: ON-CALL Days and hours worked will vary week by week

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of all floor surfaces including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing.
- Operate floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors, and vacuums.
- Follow all infection control protocols and safety procedures, especially in patient care areas.
- Respond promptly to spills and other emergency cleaning needs.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions.
- Assist with moving furniture and setting up rooms as needed.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure facility cleanliness.
- Document work completed and maintain logs as required.
- Adhere to HIPAA and patient privacy regulations while working in sensitive areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in floor care or environmental services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
