As a Sales and Marketing Intern for the Caterpillar Building Construction Products (BCP) group you will work collaboratively both within Caterpillar and with Dealer teams in the region. This role will provide tremendous exposure to the Caterpillar business while supporting the business unit with its Sales and Marketing needs. Expect to be directly involved in activities that help us achieve our key metrics for the division.Day to day responsibilities will support the needs of our growing business. You will be working directly for BCP’s Sales Manager for the region and working closely with the entire BCP field team, as well as with other partnering business units.
This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a positive attitude that can work independently with accountability to deliver results.
Specific projects/tasks
Supporting cross-divisional marketing and sales activities and events.
Creating and maintaining monthly marketing and sales reports
Creating an understanding of customer value drivers and leveraging that knowledge for marketing/sales idea generation
Supporting business and marketing planning processes
Conducting competitor evaluations
Assistance with regional training and new product release events
Assistance with dealer and customer events
Conducting market segmentation / profitability analysis
Tracking regional accountabilities and driving regional actions.
Supporting field sales and service team with requests that may include report creation, data analytics, and content creation
Requirements
Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and meet timelines and budgets.
Working knowledge of creative processes
Ability to travel (limited but some duties will require travel)
University degree with a focus/major in a business related field or engineering
Mechanically minded person will be advantageous
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within diverse teams.
Melbourne based employee that will work from 1 Caterpillar Drive, Tullamarine 5 days in the office
Must have full working rights
