Job Summary:
Caterpillar’s Global Finance Services Division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to provide corporate level support for the Company’s Brazil operations. As a Senior Accountant in Corporate Technical Accounting, you will be the main point of contact to provide US GAAP technical accounting consultation and support for all Caterpillar subsidiary operations in Brazil. You will work closely with local accounting leaders and their staff to resolve nonstandard issues and complex accounting matters.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with business partners and leaders from accounting and non-accounting disciplines to analyze business issues and recommend accounting solutions.
Conduct US GAAP technical accounting research on various topics, propose recommendations and prepare technical white papers.
Identify and implement accounting process enhancements and efficiency improvements.
Support local Brazil statutory reporting.
What you have – Skills:
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Advanced/Fluent English.
Senior-level experience providing guidance on complex business, accounting, and financial matters to business units and global corporate functions.
Top Candidates will have:
Experience with external financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC standards.
Background in integrating acquisitions and new ventures into reporting processes.
Ability to train cross-functional teams on financial topics.
Skilled in technical accounting research and stakeholder consultation.
This position requires the candidate to work on-site five days a week.
