Product Assurance Engineer

Job Summary
The individual will work as part of a team supporting the Search, Track Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) project office which manages a portfolio of Army radar systems. Specifically, the individual will be part of the Product Assurance directorate ensuring only quality products that meet specifications are delivered to the soldiers. The individual will participate in pilot line validations, manufacturing audits, failure reviews, functional configuration audits, physical configuration audits, drawing reviews, and quality audits. Experience with manufacturing engineering for mechanical and/or electrical items, source quality engineering, manufacturing work instruction development, manufacturing standards, hardware testing, production auditing, and failure analysis required.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Will provide independent review of prime contractor quality, reliability, and safety activities. The individual will identify deficiencies and provide recommendations for improvement
- Will provide subject matter expertise for independent review and comment to various qualification plans, quality plans, acceptance test plans, procedures and associated test results
- Will provide support to on-site vendor quality audits at various manufacturing locations across the country
- Will support first article inspection/Physical Configuration Audits reviews using AS9102
Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
- The work requires a Bachelor of Science in electrical, electronics, mechanical, and/or industrial engineering, or engineering technology and a broad knowledge of engineering and science applicable to electronics and manufacturing assembly technology
- Required skills include manufacturing quality auditing, manufacturing standards utilization, production readiness planning, hardware testing, production drawing review, and failure analysis
- Requires 6-10 years’ experience
- Must be able to travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Weapon system, printed wiring board, or circuit card manufacturing experience a plus
- Experience with First Article Testing and Supply Chain Management also desired
- American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) certifications a plus
