The Applications Engineer will be working for a global company that has been delivering adhesive dispensing solutions for over 59 years. Techcon Systems produces a wide array of products, from disposable fluid dispensing components to equipment utilized across various industries. The Application Engineer will be reporting directly to the Product Manager in Cypress, California. The applicant will need to have strong technical ability and can work independently with minimal supervision. |
Job Duties: |
- Perform application testing in the lab to demonstrate our products capabilities to the customers.
- Generate application test reports.
- Maintenance Demo room and demo equipment.
- Provide application and tech support through emails and phone calls.
- Provide ongoing support to the regional sales manager to retain key accounts.
- Provide customer on-site supports and demos. Ensure demonstrations are positive, effective, and all visits are thoroughly planned for maximum benefit.
- Work closely with the regional sales manager on potential key accounts to attain corporate approval / AVL status.
- Work closely with adhesives formulators and distributors to develop qualified material data base for bestselling adhesives.
- Perform pre-validation testing for new products.
- Evaluate competitors’ products and provide product improvement feedback to PM.
- Support local trade shows and become involved with regional industry associations.
- Assist PM to provide product training to the sales team and channel partners.
- Assist PM to create product application videos, application notes to help promoting our products.
- Assist with product introduction (Alpha, Beta & channel training) at a regional level.
- At all times work professionally and within company guidelines to maximize customer satisfaction, exceeding expectations wherever possible.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Education Requirements: |
- Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
- Previous lab testing is highly preferred.
- Responsive, confident problem solver and Technical oriented.
- Able to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines commitments.
- Ability to evaluate the market and provide direction to product management to help grow the business.
- Must be able to meet deadlines, be well organized, and exercise sound judgment concerning distribution and key accounts.
- Computer skills required for reporting purposes, Power Point presentations, pricing and data management.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Local candidates, relocation will not be offered.
- Technical College Degree (AA or higher) or equivalent related technical experience is preferred.

Work Arrangement : Onsite
Pay Range: $68,640.00 - $70,000.00 annually
