Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Applied Solutions Senior Manager to support the Boeing Secure Computing Solutions group in Pleasanton, CA.
The manager will be responsible for leading a team of Project Managers, Design Engineers, Test Engineers, Technicians and Application Engineers responsible for development through production of leading-edge, secure board level and avionics box level solutions. This position will require leadership of a team performing work for Boeing Secure Computing Solutions as well as other Boeing divisions.
The successful candidate should have a demonstrated track record for technical leadership of electronic product development. The candidate must also have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
The position requires being on-site full-time and will report to the Senior Director of Sensors and Special Programs in the Air Dominance division of BDS.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages the engineering team of Project Managers, Design Engineers, Test Engineers, Technicians and Application Engineers
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage team, fostering their career growth and build a strong team culture based on inclusion, innovation and respect
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and motivate the team to achieve common objectives through effective teamwork
Drive innovation by looking beyond current practices and utilizing creative thinking to discover new opportunities and solutions
Ability to think critically, problem solve and comfortable working through ambiguity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform and implement the company’s technology strategy, with a special focus on execution, quality and timely delivery
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in electrical, electronic or computer engineering, or other technical degree
15+ years of experience in electronic product design/development
Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership position
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
Previous experience in management
Knowledge of electronic production manufacturing
Knowledge of firmware and/or software required to bring a complete solution to market

Typical Summary pay range: $191,250- $258,750
