The Manager of Data Strategy and Management is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive data management strategy that ensures high-quality, reliable data to support business insights and data-driven decision-making. This role bridges the gap between data governance and stewardship, ensuring that data is not only well-managed but also strategically aligned with organizational objectives. The Manager will oversee data policies, processes, and tools to maintain data integrity and facilitate effective data usage across the organization. This position also incorporates elements of supply chain data management, ensuring data architecture and stewardship practices support the entire internal and external value chain.
THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE LOCATED IN LINCOLNSHIRE, IL. THE EXPECTATION IS AT LEAST 3 DAYS OF IN-OFFICE ATTENDANCE.
Responsibilities:
Data Strategy & Architecture:
- Develop and lead the execution of a data management strategy to support business objectives and operational needs.
- Design and implement robust data architecture frameworks, ensuring efficient data flows, integrations, and structures across systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS).
- Ensure the data architecture supports agility, resilience, and performance, and is futureready for new data requirements.
- Evaluate current data management technologies and processes, recommending enhancements to improve data quality and accessibility.
Data Stewardship & Governance:
- Establish and oversee strategies for managing data governance practices, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Lead data stewardship efforts, ensuring oversight of operational data and compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Define policies and quality standards for managing external partner data, ensuring alignment with global data policies.
- Establish data auditing and validation standards to ensure data availability and integrity; identify gaps and report findings to stakeholders.
- Lead data maturity and remediation programs to ensure timely availability of trustworthy data.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
- Enhance the use of data analytics and reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with business analysts to create actionable insights from data, enhancing performance in key operational areas.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Acts as a subject matter expert and escalation for these teams.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of data requirements and outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and ensure data management practices support business goals.
Compliance & Security:
- Ensure that data management practices comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and data privacy laws.
- Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and protect it from unauthorized access or breaches.
- Manage risk associated with data storage, transfer, and usage, particularly with thirdparty vendors and partners.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Management, Operations Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in data strategy, management, stewardship and governance roles
- Strong leadership skills and experience in crossfunctional team collaboration
- Expertise in data quality assessment and assurance, metadata management, and policy administration
- Ability to understand and dissect data through analysis and visualization using tools such as PBI, Tableau, MS Excel, etc.
- Deep knowledge of data lineage, digital data validation & remediation techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree preferred
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decisionmaking skills with an ability to proactively research complex issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutions in ambiguous situations
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with data management tools and platforms.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in data management and/or governance
- Solid understanding of relevant operational processes and corresponding data requirements
- Ability to synthesize complex data models, and datarelated issues to convey insights clearly and concisely to technical and business stakeholders
- Demonstrated frameworks to improve data management processes and systems, including data cleansing efforts and the ability to identify and assign correction of data errors or discrepancies.
- Demonstrated proficiency with digital data catalog and data governance systems, with experience in Alation preferred.
Licenses, Certifications or Special Qualifications:
- Certification in Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP) is a plus
- Six Sigma Certifications, Supply Chain is a plus

Salary: USD 106800.00 - USD 160200.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
