ResponsibilitiesAssesses patients and plan care for shift needs in all departments with assistance from nursing staff and department
managers; must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the
ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each
patient’s requirements relative to their specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in each department.
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manages overtime and unit staffing for all nursing staff based on budget, patient acuity and census on a daily basis
2. Communicates staffing decisions to Nurse Managers of concerned area
3. Ensures agency nursing staff is in appropriate units at the scheduled time
4. Responds and intervenes in all emergency situations
5. Coordinates all staff nurse sick calls and communicates information to the manager of concern.
6. Responsible for the notification of on call staff
7. Responsible for coordinating after hour procedures
8. Acts promptly and decisively to address problems that arise throughout the house
9. Serves as administrative/management representative at all times
QualificationsRequired:
*BSN is required
*Registered Nurse (RN)
*Based on location assignment may also require BLS/ACLS/ and
or PALS
*Five (5) years of clinical experience
*Must demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to work with other departments
