As a Transportation Intern at Lowe’s, you’ll explore how a FORTUNE® 100 retailer moves millions of products through one of the largest supply chain networks in the U.S. You’ll work alongside transportation and logistics professionals who develop strategies that ensure goods flow efficiently from suppliers to distribution centers and stores. From optimizing freight spend to improving delivery performance, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the processes and systems that drive supply chain excellence. Summer Internship Program
Whether you're starting your professional journey or pivoting to a new field, Lowe's offers the resources and opportunities you need to thrive. Our 10-week summer internship program (May 26th – July 31st) immerses you in real-world retail operations. You'll work directly with industry experts across our stores, distribution centers, and corporate offices, gaining practical experience through hands-on projects that make meaningful contributions to our business and communities.

Do Your Best Work in Mooresville
This internship is based at our headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina. Our corporate office is a space where you can collaborate and do your best work. Take a walk, grab a bite (or a cup of coffee), work out or get a check-up – we invest in you so you can find your inspiration.
What You Will Learn
- Analyze transportation performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support projects that reduce freight costs and improve delivery reliability.
- Gain exposure to carrier management, routing strategies, and transportation procurement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve logistics efficiency and customer service levels.
- Learn how technology systems support network visibility, scheduling, and shipment optimization.
- Contribute to initiatives that advance sustainability in transportation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, business, logistics or related field.
- Expected graduation dates of December 2026 or May 2027
Preferred Skills/Experience
- 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Proficient in MS Office programs (specifically in Power Point, Excel and data analysis tools).
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, problem solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report on key data metrics to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
- Relevant internship or experience in logistics, transportation, logistics, or supply chain is a plus.
- Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
