Role Summary
The Distribution Center Lead - East serves as a strategic and operational leader within our east coast distribution center, focusing on process optimization, project management, and technical excellence. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement in logistics operations, implementing best practices, and supporting key business initiatives. The position provides subject matter expertise and partners with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives but does not have direct responsibility for managing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Scope, design, and lead high-impact projects from concept through stabilization, ensuring alignment with cost, service, and environmental goals
- Analyse end-to-end supply-chain data; build business cases and present recommendations to senior leadership in Operations, IT, Finance, and Sustainability
- Act as primary liaison between DC operations and Engineering, IT, Finance, Global Process Owners, and 3PL vendors for technology deployments and capital projects
- Partner with the 3PL WMS team to define operational requirements, test new functionality, and validate system performance; escalate issues and track resolution
- Develop metrics dashboards, SOPs, and best practice playbooks, train people leaders and associates on new standards
- Conduct root-cause analyses for systemic service or quality issues, drive corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with People Managers
- Lead HP’s continuous-improvement roadmap using Lean/Six Sigma, value-stream mapping, and digital-twin modelling; track ROI and sustainment
- Ensure adherence to regulatory or HP standards within project scope
- Mentor supervisors, engineers, and analysts informally, fostering a culture of learning and innovation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Deep experience delivering complex, cross-functional projects in distribution, fulfilment, or manufacturing environments
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL etc.
- Solid knowledge of WMS/ERP platforms, material-handling systems, and automation technologies, with experience coordinating changes through a 3PL partner
- Exceptional influencing and communication skills; able to align executives, engineers, and frontline associates without direct authority
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results on schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or comparable certification
- Hands-on experience implementing DC automation or robotics solutions
- Exposure to network design, transportation optimization, or sustainability-driven supply-chain projects
The base pay range for this role is $104,800 to $156,250 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
