Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter/HVAC Technician to perform installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical piping systems across commercial and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with various piping materials and HVAC systems, possess a strong understanding of mechanical schematics and blueprints, and be committed to delivering high-quality workmanship in compliance with safety and industry standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Install, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, air, gas, chemicals, and other fluids in commercial and industrial environments.
Work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, plastic piping, and other specialized materials.
Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and plumbing systems to identify and resolve leaks, blockages, corrosion, or equipment failures.
Replace or repair damaged or faulty piping, valves, pumps, and fixtures to ensure system integrity and performance.
Perform routine maintenance to ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of mechanical systems.
Assemble piping using welding, brazing, soldering, threading, grooving, and mechanical fittings with appropriate tools and equipment.
Install and commission mechanical service piping systems including HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed air, fire protection, and other process piping.
Conduct pressure tests to detect leaks and verify system alignment and compliance with design and performance standards.
Read and interpret piping blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and building plans to guide work.
Basic Qualifications
TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance and repair.
Completion of a formal training program in HVAC technology or a related field.
Proficient in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as motor analyzers, pressure gauges, and factory manuals.
Ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble other major HVAC systems.
Skilled in using standard hand tools and power tools commonly used in HVAC repair.
Working knowledge of cooling systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance practices.
Familiarity with performing routine mechanical inspections and safety checks.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and solve moderately complex mechanical problems.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree, trade school certification, or vocational training in Mechanical Fitting, HVAC, Diesel Mechanics, or a closely related technical field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, HVAC system maintenance, or industrial equipment repair.
Certification in HVAC systems (e.g., EPA 608) or relevant mechanical trade certifications (e.g., Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
Proven ability in advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical, HVAC, and electro-mechanical systems.
Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems in commercial, industrial, or plant environments.
Familiarity with energy-efficient HVAC technologies, ventilation systems, and sustainable mechanical practices.
Understanding of maintenance planning and project coordination, including parts procurement and job scheduling.
Knowledge of quality assurance protocols, mechanical compliance standards, and relevant building codes.
Strong commitment to workplace safety with demonstrated knowledge of occupational safety regulations (e.g., OSHA or local equivalents).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
