Job Summary
The Philadelphia Flyers are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant to support the Communications department and media relations efforts with a focus on the team’s publicity and off-ice news. This role will provide experience in public relations, community storytelling, and the behind-the-scenes workings of a professional sports team. The graduate assistant will help promote, as necessary, players, coaches, and spokespersons from the organization through earned media opportunities
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Assist with writing and editing press releases, media alerts, and other press materials
- Help plan and execute press opportunities around off-ice team events
- Support coordination of media requests and public appearances
- Assist in preparing background materials and talking points for spokespersons
- Track media mentions and compile daily press clips and coverage summaries
- Maintain and update media contact lists and publicity calendars
- Help with logistics and staffing during press conferences, community events, and other team appearances
- Contribute to storytelling efforts that highlight the team’s community involvement and player personalities
- Regular, Consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
