This posting is for the Hypersonic Strike Weapon Systems (HSWS) Mission Success (MS) lead for the US Navy office of Strategic Programs (SSP) programs with focus on CPS deployment on the Zumwalt guided missile destroyer platform Mission Success is the successful performance of our products and services, achieved through an ingrained discipline that fosters an unyielding dedication to product integrity from inception to conclusion of every endeavor. This position will work closely with the HSWS Chief Engineers and Program Quality team to ensure reliability and performance across development and production aspects of the HSWS portfolio.
Responsibilities include:
• Mission Success Advocate – Advocate for MS within the program, providing an independent appeal path and independent risk assessments for mission success issues.
• Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Provide expertise to the program to anticipate, predict, and prevent potential mission risk issues by resolving them as early in the program life cycle and at the lowest program level possible.
• Enterprise Communication – Communicate systemic issues and best practices across the Enterprise, including addressing all bulletins/GIDEP/lessons learned/advisories affecting modernization program products and coordinating of internal MS Audit activities.
• Mission Success Event Management – Manage the HSWS MS Event process, including independent review board (IRB) leadership and presentation of issues and recommendations to LM and customer executive leadership
• Failure Resolution Cognizance – Review all major anomalies for adequacy of root cause identification, corrective actions, validity of conclusions, and effectiveness of implemented corrective measures
• Potential Reach Across Cognizance – Ensure issues that have the potential of reach across to other Strategic Reentry Products and other missile development programs are known and communicated
• You will need a currently active Secret Security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance
Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or Master's level or higher degree
• Hardware or software development or integration experience or anything else related
• Experience with failure investigations or failure analysis
• Understanding of risk identification or mitigation
• Ability to drive closure or resolve technical issues or challenges
• Currently active Secret Security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance
• Willingness to travel
Desired Skills:• Masters degree in Science or Engineering preferred
• Experience in strategic missile systems
• HSWS program experience highly preferred
• Experience across all aspects of the program lifecycle, such as design, development, flight test, and production
• Experience in working with the U.S. Army and Navy Strategic Systems Program Offices
• Aptitude for Model Based Engineering, Agile processes, and Digital Transformation
• Current Top Secret Clearance
• Demonstrated customer orientation by learning and understanding customers’ missions, needs, and perspectives
• Demonstrated Speak Up attitude and ability to influence technical leaders and program executives
• Bachelors degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 20 years or more of professional experience; or 18 years with a related Masters, or 15 years with a related PhD degree.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $144,600 - $255,070. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
