As a Consultant, you'll maintain relationships with top segment key clients by working with producers, plan sponsors, actuaries, third-party administrators (TPAs) and PPAs with ongoing administration of plans, providing assistance to clients with governmental audits, preparing and conducting plan meetings, providing expertise and support to sales personnel, development and presentation to prospective customers. You'll act as a liaison between Nationwide Financial and our larger Premiere and Pinnacle PPAs, TPAs and plan sponsors.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Drives and implements continuous improvement ideas to elevate customer service.
Communicates with plan sponsors and their representatives, IP, TPA and PPA regarding the administration of qualified retirement plans. Serves as point of contact for Plan Sponsors, IPs, TPAs and PPAs. Develops and maintains relationships with internal/external clients and business partners.
Identifies business needs, service requirements, key issues, alternative solutions and resources for the clients and business. Influences and advises plan sponsors, administrators and investment professionals on product, pricing, process and service options.
Conducts monthly progress calls with strategic administrator firms and high segment plan sponsors, focusing on Nationwide offerings, firm's progress towards objectives and opportunities for improvement.
Manages incoming phone calls and e-mail queues from front-line administrator staff, PPA/TPA Sales and Marketing staff, plan sponsors and investment professionals.
Supports pricing and compensations changes, case swaps, abandoned plans, PPA resignations, DOL issues, privacy issues, block mergers, agreement changes, fee-based advisor contractual changes, amendments, endorsements, outstanding invoices, fee and compensation questions, fund additions, cash outs, RIA services, iron financial, self-directed brokerage, annual plan review, FDIC.
Responsible for oversight of administrator contacts who support their regions. Provides onboarding for new administrator relationships.
Manages and creates responses to formal complaints, complex customer concerns and regulatory and legal issues.
Manages all existing business product, pricing, agreement and compensation questions/issues.
Travels for relationship visits. Represents Nationwide presentations at and participation in industry conferences, and Nationwide customer conferences. Provides on-site customer training for key relationships.
Reviews and makes updates as a subject matter authority to external marketing pieces and user guides.
Actively maintains customer profiles and working knowledge of the best ways for Nationwide (provider) to interact with client firm/customer office.
Creates and distribute written communications. Understands, communicates, and gains key client adoption of optimal operations practices.
Provides training for new associates.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager and does not have direct reports.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies or equivalent related work experience.
License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 6 license required. Associates must obtain the license within the time period designated by the business unit. If an associate fails or is unable to obtain required license within the designated time period, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position. Six Sixma green belt a plus.
Experience: Five years of financial services experience, with at least two years in retirement plans; Nationwide Financial (wholesale distribution model) experience preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Thorough knowledge of qualified retirement plan concepts, reconciliation of plan assets and an understanding of basic Internal Revenue Code and Department of Labor regulations. Working knowledge of investments including annuities, mutual funds and the financial marketplace. Strong communication skills; data analysis; data integrity checks; decision making skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish priorities. Ability to analyze and recommend solutions to business issues. Must have strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills. Must have solid understanding of the operational business model, including the products, services and processes of the related business unit. Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with business unit and client. Ability to lead multiple tasks and projects. Ability to evaluate and recommend problem resolutions. Confirmed problem solving skills in identifying problem situations and generating viable solutions.
