Job Description Summary
The Airworthiness & Certification (A&C) Lean Process leader will serve as a supporting staff member to the Airworthiness & Certification organization and Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) administration with a focus in leading lean strategy and driving initiates to continuously improve the effectiveness of the regulatory approval system processes and overall resource management. The A&C Lean Process Leader will gain knowledge and command of these processes through a series of learning opportunities with a primary focus on operational excellence and leading initiatives to deliver continuous improvement improving organizational alignment with business demand of the Certification processes. Experience gained in process improvement, operational support and audit/oversight activities will provide a solid foundation for further growth in the ODA as an appointed Deputy Administrator of TC/PC Functions.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead lean continuous improvement activities resulting in related process change implementation (includes automation, digital tool enhancements or tool development)
- Accomplish this element of the role through definition and implementation and evolution of standard work and tools.
- Provide support and recommendations to A&C organization to ensure teams are working at optimum efficiency
- Interface with Services Engineering, the Airworthiness and Certification Office and the ODA.
- Partner with value stream owners across the business to understand and know Certification work demand signals
- Participate in and become familiar with regulatory approval systems audit responsibilities, record retention requirements, operational cadence, and administrative functions with focus on growing process competence to promote operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within team
- Lead and promote visual and daily management techniques and practices to enable real-time communication and problem solving on technical, organizational and/or resource challenges
- Prepare & deliver progress / status reports to leadership team
- Support additional business initiatives of the demand signal value streams, which may include partnering across the functions and PMO to lead or participate functional teams or projects of moderate risk and/or complexity.
- Active contributor to a business culture which promotes, safety, quality, and compliance. Advocates for the value of the ODA and the integrity of its Unit Members, today and in the future.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or Aerospace from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in systems engineering
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

- Knowledge of continued airworthiness, certification and regulatory approval system processes
