The Wealth Management (WM) Chief Data Office (CDO) sits within the WM Risk organization and strives to find the right balance between risk management and business enablement. WM CDO’s mission is to: prevent unauthorized access to or misuse of client sensitive data and assets; abide by relevant privacy laws and regulations; effectively retain, retrieve, and protect information and records at the Firm; and mitigate risks caused by inaccurate, untimely, or incomplete WM data.
The COO team within WM CDO supports various client-facing cybersecurity and fraud prevention efforts, including meetings and events between our team’s cybersecurity experts and clients, prospects, and personnel. Through these engagements, we offer industry-leading thought leadership, impart recommendations and best practices, and leverage cybersecurity as a business development differentiator for Morgan Stanley.
Our team seeks an Associate to coordinate these client and field engagement activities. This individual will work hand in hand with our team’s Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), marketing partners, Strategic Client Management, and Field and Home Office colleagues. This individual will interact at all levels (e.g., with Managing Director-level SMEs, significant Financial Advisors and their teams, and Field and Home Office administrative professionals). The ideal candidate will be comfortable executing in a fast-paced environment with the expectation of quick turnarounds times.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Running the intake, evaluation, and prioritization process for all requests for WM cybersecurity/fraud SMEs to participate in client/prospect briefings
- Compiling all preparatory materials such that SMEs are fully up-to-speed on the objective and strategy in advance of any client/prospect-involved meeting or event
- Supporting team members with conducting research and drafting talking points to address the cybersecurity or fraud implications of newsworthy events or Morgan Stanley-related incidents
- Consistently refreshing an internal team library of approved answers to Frequently Asked Questions
- Producing monthly engagement metrics and recommendations to better reach target constituencies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- A customer service orientation and genuine interest in and passion for active listening, relationship-building, persuasion and negotiation, and problem-solving
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate attention to detail
- Basic data analysis and quantitative skills (i.e., the ability to generate and use metrics to support decisions and perform impact analysis)
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar and tone
- Strong research skills and commitment to verifying the accuracy of information
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, fraud trends, and the financial services industry preferred, but not required
- Ability to operate as a team-oriented self-starter with an openness to collaboration and feedback

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $58,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
